It happened less then a week ago; the landing of the ships and the death of Prince Elfangor. Just yesterday Tobias morphed into a cat, Cassie into a horse, and I into Homer, my dog. The world has turned up-side down, events are spinning out of our control. I can feel the tides begin to change and the ground begin to shake. The world is not in a struggle, it is in the process of being captured by aliens.

No, not the green, many-eyed monsters from outer space, no beasts from Star Wars. The aliens we are being routed by are smaller then your thumb. They are in the form of slugs, small and sightless, but they are small enough to slip in through your ear. Go through the ear cannal and mold with your brain, they can open your mind and read it like a book, see your life, learn about you; your habits, your likes, your weaknesses, and your deepest, darkest secrets. They need this information because after they have read your mind, they control you. They can manipulate everything about you, your actions, your words, but not your thoughts. The worst thing about this is that no one other then you and this slug, the Yeerk, knows that you have become a controler, a slave. Slowly, the entire human race will be infected.

So, just what mighty army stands in the way of this invasion? Tanks? Mad scientists? No, the only force in between you and the Yeerks are five human kids, barely into their teenage years, who have been given the power to morph into animals for up to two hours at a time in the hop that they will do all they can to stop the enemy. Along with one young Andalite apprentice, they fight this war, representing the entire human race.
